Senate Legislative Activity

The Senate will meet on Monday, November 30, at 3:o0pm. Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will be in a period of morning business until 5:00pm. At 5:00pm, there be up to 30 minutes of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #268, the nomination of Gayle Smith, of Ohio, to be Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development.

House Legislative Activity

On Monday, November 30, the House will meet at 2:00pm for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30pm.  The following legislation will be considered under suspension of the rules:

  1. S. 11 – Grassroots Rural and Small Community Water Systems Assistance Act;
  2. H.R. 3490 – Strengthening State and Local Cyber Crime Fighting Act;
  3. H.R. 3279 – Open Book on Equal Access to Justice Act, as amended;
  4. H.R. 1755 – To amend title 36, United States Code, to make certain improvements in the congressional charter of the Disabled American Veterans, as amended;
  5. H.R. 2288 – To remove the use restrictions on certain land transferred to Rockingham County, Virginia, and for other purposes;
  6. H.R. 1541 – PRISM Act;
  7. H.R. 2212 – To take certain Federal lands located in Lassen County, California, into trust for the benefit of the Susanville Indian Rancheria, and for other purposes;
  8. H.R. 2270 – Billy Frank Jr. Tell Your Story Act; and
  9. S. 1170 – Breast Cancer Research Stamp Reauthorization Act of 2015

On Tuesday and Wednesday, December 1-2, the House will meet at 10:00am for morning hour and 12:00pm for legislative business.  On Thursday, December 3, the House will meet at 9:00am for legislative business, with last votes expected by 3:00pm.  The House will consider:

  1. H.R. 8 – North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act of 2015, Rules Committee Print (Subject to a Rule);
  2. S.J. Res. 23 – Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of a rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to “Standards of Performance for Greenhouse Gas Emissions from New, Modified, and Reconstructed Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units” (Subject to a Rule); and
  3. S.J. Res 24 – Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of a rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to “Carbon Pollution Emission Guidelines for Existing Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units” (Subject to a Rule)

The House may also consider:

  1. Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 22 – Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2015; and
  2. Conference Report to Accompany H.R. 5 – Student Success Act

On Friday, December 4, no votes are expected in the House.
