Senate Legislative Activity

On Monday, February 23, following any Leader remarks, Senator John Hoeven (R-ND) will be recognized to deliver Washington’s Farewell Address. Following the reading, the Senate will recess until 4:30pm.  At 4:30pm, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to H.R. 240, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2105. At 5:30pm, there will be a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R. 240.

House Legislative Activity

On Tuesday, February 24, the House will meet at 12:00pm for morning hour and at 2:00pm for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30pm.  The following legislation will be considered under suspension of the rules:

  1. H.R. 212– Drinking Water Protection Act, as amended;
  2. H.R. 734– Federal Communications Commission Consolidated Reporting Act of 2015; and
  3. H.R. 1020– STEM Education Act of 2015

On Wednesday, February 25, and Thursday, February 26, the House will meet at 10:00am for morning hour and at 12:00pm for legislative business, with votes postponed until 6:30pm.  On Friday, February 27, the House will meet at 9:00am for legislative business, with last votes expected by 3:00pm.  The following legislation will be considered under suspension of the rules:

  1. S. 227– Strengthening Education through Research Act

The House will also consider H.R. 529 – To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to improve 529 plans (Subject to a Rule) and H.R. 5 – Student Success Act, Rules Committee Print (Subject to a Rule).  The House may consider H.R. 240 – Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2015
