Defense Appropriations

Last Thursday, the House debated its FY 2015 defense spending bill, offering a number of amendments that ranged from the unexpired Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) in Iraq to addressing whether to arm the Syrian opposition forces.  On Friday, the bill passed by a vote of 340-73.

The Senate appropriations process suffered a set-back last week, with some saying the Senate may now not work on advancing its spending bills before the November elections.
