The Senate will convene at 2:00 pm today, Monday, November 4. After any leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S. 815, the Employee Non-Discrimination Act—cloture was filed on the motion to proceed to S. 815 last Thursday, October 31. The Senate will proceed to Executive Session at 5:00 pm to consider the following:
- Executive Calendar #328 – the nomination of Gregory Howard Woods to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York; and
- Executive Calendar #329 – the nomination of Debra M. Brown to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Mississippi.
There will be up to 30 minutes of debate equally divided and controlled before up to two roll call votes on confirmation of the nominations. After disposition of the Brown nomination, there will be up to two minutes of debate before a cloture vote on the motion to proceed to S. 815. Therefore, there will be a total of up to three roll call votes today at 5:30 pm, however, it is possible that one of the nominations will be confirmed by voice vote.
The House is not scheduled to be in session this week.
